After completing his degree in Russian and Russian studies at the University of Texas at Austin he studied law and business at the University of Houston. While at U of H, he was recruited by KPMG to work as a consultant in their Moscow and Kiev offices. After 4 years he found his way to medicine and finished a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Connecticut. Early in his career he developed a passion for wound care and hyperbaric medicine and has been practicing in this discipline for over 15 years. He is married to Rachel, a Nurse Practitioner and has 2 dogs, Jett and Axel and a cat named Eddie. He enjoys playing golf and collecting guitars during his free time.
